Welcome to my online store!

Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, I am an electrical engineer and embedded software designer. I also do CAD design, 3D printing, and PCB hardware design. My professional background spans over 20 years in telecom, consumer electronics, and aerospace. 

I picked up Bitcoin mining as a hobby with my first Bitaxe Gamma. I quickly realized what a powerful platform it is for mining and experimentation, and now have several different platforms running in my lab where I do development and test new designs. I also realized that there are particular limitations with the factory supplied Bitaxe systems regarding  heat dissipation and fan-noise, especially when it comes to over-clocking. 

The Giant Squid design has evolved considerably since I first started, and has steadily improved. My overall goals for the Squid have always been:

1. Be as quiet as possible. Many people want these in their living space!
2. Be as simple as possible - use only one fan.
3. Be as cool as possible to allow for increased over-clocking (for those that wish to!)
4. Have a unique, attractive design.
5. Be very well engineered with quality materials and hardware. Don't cheap out!
6. Make it well! I do all the 3D printing, wiring, and assembly myself. Your builder is also the designer, tester, packager, and QC!
