Q: After I installed the Giant Squid (or Talon, or upgraded heatsink, or any major handling of of your miner) the ASIC tempertaure is much higher than before! What happened?
A: Temps going up after a major upgrade is a common problem. The heatsink has shifted slightly on the top of the ASIC and is no longer making good contact. A paste refresh and remount typically fixes this and makes it run even cooler than before! Be careful during mounting not to apply any mechanical force or shock to the heatsink.
Q: Shipping to the USA seems expensive. Why is that?
Q: Why don't I see UPS/Fedex/DHL/ ... as a shipping option?
A: Since the introduction of CBP import tariffs in late 2025, many products have additional tariff charges applied that must be paid by the importer (you). Private shipping carriers usually collect this before delivery. Several carriers apply arbitrary, inconsistent, and usually incorrect duties to the shipment, some as high as 200%, plus many extra fees. (Fact. looking at you, UPS). You or I won't know this amount until they are ready to deliver it, and then they hold your package 'hostage' until you pay. However, by using a postal service (Canada Post / USPS), the tariff charges are correct, and can be determined and pre-paid at checkout. There will be no surprise charges at delivery!
