Giant Squid files include the Triduct, Cradle, Spacing Gasket, and Mounting Brackets for after-market heatsinks (where required).
Selecting your Giant Squid Model:
- See "Heatsink Measuring Guide" in the products page
- The Giant Squid is optimized for, and fit to, the specific size of your Bitaxe's ASIC heatsink.
- Please measure your main heatsink. See "Heatsink Measuring Guide" in the products page to select the appropriate variant.

Printing
Recommended printer bed orientations are as shown in the gallery.
- Giant Squid Triducts, PSU stands, and 52pi Low Profile Mounts are designed to print without support.
- Tree support is recommended for the Giant Squid Cradle, see gallery for a Cura example.
- Support is required for the NorthStar Heatsink Mounts.
- Mouse ears are present on the PSU Stands to aid bed adhesion. Trim after printing.
For Squid components and PSU stands, PLA+ is recommended for strength and flexibility. Recommended print settings are:
- 0.2mm layers
- 3 shells
- 15% cubic infill
- 4 layers top and bottom
For Heatsink Mounting Brackets (NorthStar and 52pi Low-Profile) I recommend PETG with 8 shells, 100% infill.
Hardware
Giant Squid Triducts are designed for six M4 brass inserts. The design will accomodate M4 or possibly M5 nuts and bolts as well. If using nuts there may a clearance issue with one of the fan corner mounts. It can either be left off, or trimmed with a knife or file.
The Giant Squid Cradle is designed for four M2.5 brass inserts. To attach the PCB to the Cradle using screws I recommend 2mm x 13mm screws, and pre-drilling a 1.5mm hole through the bottom of the bosses (careful to not drill right through the Cradle :)
The Giant Squid is designed for the following hardware. Note that the printed product price includes this hardware, with 10x brass inserts installed.
4x M4 x 35mm capscrews
2x M4 x 12mm capscrews
2x M4 x 12mm washers
4x M2.5 x 6mm capscrews
The NorthStar and Modded 52pi Low-Profile Plus heatsink mounts are designed for four M2.5 inserts. They can also be used with M2.5 nuts, bolts, and washers. Note: insert location and insertion direction is from the TOP of the mount - in this way some of the bolt tension is opposed by the insertion ridge below the insert (see Product pictures for examples).
Note that the 52pi Low-Profile Plus mounts are designed to accomodate a 1.5mm copper shim.
The LRS-50 and LRS-100 PSUs require M3 x 10mm bolts. The LRS-200/LRS-350 uses M4 x 16mm bolts. Be careful with the bolt length - the Meanwell PCB and components can be damaged if the bolt is too long. For PSU Stands, washers are recommended with all bolts.
